Key Responsibilities:
1. Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
2. Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
3. Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
4. Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; files annual corporate tax return.
5. Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
6. Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
7. Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
8. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
9. Ensures their employees are in alignment with HR policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
10. Manages the annual budget for their department and ensures annual projects are delivered and met.
